Itinerary
Day 1 Fly from UK to Whitehorse via Vancouver.  On arrival, transfer to the High Country Inn in Whitehorse for one night – room only.
Day 2 You will be met and given a short tour of the town.  Following some time for shopping, you will drive to Sky High Valley Ranch, 20 km south of Whitehorse where you will be outfitted with your expedition clothing.  The lodge overlooks Fish Lake.  There will be plenty of time to settle in, get to know the dogs and learn how to harness and drive the sled.  There may be time to take a short run.
Day 3 After your breakfast you will enjoy your first full day's sledding, covering about 35 km driving towards Jackson Lake and Copper Haul Road.  You will return to the Ranch in the evening.
Day 4 Today you will take the dogs east of the Ranch, you will be continuously climbing on Mount MacIntyre.  Occasional stops will afford unprecedented scenery of the Costal Mountains with Fish Lake deep in the valley.  You will easily cover 30 kms today.  In the evening you will return to the Lodge.
Day 5 Today you will head towards beautiful Bonneville Lakes, west of the Ranch. The trails are narrower and more challenging.  Part of the trip will be above the tree line and you will cover about 30 km today.
Day 6 For three days you will leave behind the last remnants of civilisation and head out for an unforgettable adventure.  Your team of huskies will pull you and your loaded sled into the Costal Range to the south.  Each evening you will stop in a permanent tented camp or cabins for the night.
Day 7 Weather permitting you will make a run to the top of the mountain above the tree line to Ptarmigan flats where there is a good chance of seeing large flocks of these beautiful white birds.  Overnight in a trappers tent.
Day 8 After a hearty breakfast, you will start your final day of mushing.  The dogs will pull you westbound with the Costal Mountains ahead of you.  Late afternoon you will transfer to the Inn on the Lake for two nights.  Inn on the Lake is a deluxe resort 30 miles south of Whitehorse.  Here you will stay in luxurious rooms with private bathrooms and you can simply relax by the fire with a book, sit in a hot tub overlooking the lake or enjoy snowmobiling, cross country skiing, showshoeing, tobogganing and Northern Lights viewing.
