Itinerary 
Day 1  Fly from the UK to San Jose.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Grano de Oro Hotel for one night.  The hotel is an oasis in the heart of the city.  Formerly a Victorian Mansion, it maintains the comfort and warmth of a private home.  The restaurant at the hotel is one of San Jose’s finest.

Day 2  You will be transferred in the morning to the airport for your flight to Palmar Sur in the Southern of Costa Rica. Please limit your luggage to 25 pounds (12kg) per person. On arrival you will be met and taken to Sierpe River where a boat will take you to Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge, a beautiful property in a 170 acre private reserve on the edge of the Corcovado National Park, all meals are included at the lodge.

Day 3 You will take a full day hiking tour in Corcovado National Park.

Day 4 Today you will take a tour to Cano Island and there will be time to hike the Casa Corcovado Trails.
Day 5 You will be transferred by boat in the morning to Sierpe River and then taken to Palmar Sur for your flight to San Jose. On arrival you will either pick up your car or meet your driver and go to Arenal and the Arenal Paraiso Hotel for three nights on bed and breakfast. Arenal Paraíso is a three hour drive from San José. Here nature combines the peace of the tropical rain forest and the majesty of one of the most active volcanoes in the country.  All rooms have private bathrooms, fans, cable TV, and terrace facing the volcano.  There is a restaurant, swimming pool, jacuzzi, trails, lovely gardens and canopy tour.

Day 6  Today a half day’s fishing on Arenal Lake is arranged.  Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7  Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, a local guide will meet you for a tour to the Arenal Volcano National Park, where you will observe the impact of recent volcanic eruptions.  The Arenal volcano has been active for more than 30 years. The level of activity varies from week to week, sometimes there is a spectacular display of glowing red-hot lava and at other times, the volcano is more placid but will glow in the dark.  After visiting the volcano, you will have a chance to take a relaxing dip at Tabacón Hot Springs.
Day 8  Today you will either drive or take a private transfer to Monteverde. You will travel around Lake Arenal, through picturesque small towns and villages and then on to Monteverde, a rural community nestled in the highlands of the Tilaran Mountain Range.  Monteverde, which means Green Mountain was colonized in 1951 by a group of American Quakers.  You will arrive around noon and stay at the Hotel Fonda Vela for two nights on bed and breakfast. The remainder of the day can be spent visiting the butterfly garden or the local art galleries. The hotel is in a beautiful location in the Monteverde mountains, all rooms have private bathrooms and there is a restaurant, bar, TV room, private trails, horseback riding, and laundry.

Day 9  A Tour of the Monteverde Cloud Forest is arranged in the morning and a Selvatura Walkways Tour in the afternoon.
Day 10  Drive or take a private ground transfer to Manuel Antonio. The drive will take you from the mountains to the Pacific Ocean and allow time to enjoy the beautiful tropical forest with abundant wildlife. Continue down the coast to Quepos, where you will stay for the next three nights on bed and breakfast at La Mariposa Hotel which is near the Manuel Antonio National Park.  The hotel has lovely views, comfortable rooms, a bar, restaurant and swimming pool. All rooms have private bathrooms.
      
Day 11  Today is free to explore the Manuel Antonio National Park.  The park is a combination of rain forests which lead down to spectacular beaches and coral reefs in the ocean.  Snorkelling is excellent and the forest is home to sloths, iguanas and the rare squirrel monkey.  There are also over 270 species of birds including parakeets, parrots and at least 15 different types of hummingbirds.
Day 12 At leisure.
Day 13 Morning at leisure. In the afternoon drive or you will be transferred from Manuel Antonio to San Jose and the Grano de Oro hotel for one night.  If you have a car you can drop it off at the hotel.
Day 14  You will be transferred to the Airport for your flight to the UK.
Day 15 Arrive UK.
