Itinerary 
Day 1  Fly from London to Christchurch.
Day 3  Arrive Christchurch – connecting flight to Dunedin.  You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for two nights, breakfast is included.
Day 4  Yellow-eyed PenguinDunedin.  Early start before dawn travelling onto the Otago Peninsula with walk down the deserted beach to see the Yellow Eyed Penguin begin their daily routine going out to sea.  Return to your hotel for breakfast and a rest before heading out again.  Spend the rest of the day with your guide on the Peninsula visiting the Marine Studies Centre, Royal Albatross Centre and a one hour harbour cruise.
Day 5  Dunedin to Stewart Island.  Set off this morning after breakfast for guided day trip down the Catlins Coast to Invercargill.  Visit the Nugget Point Scientific & Marine Reserve.  A day of natural history, flora, fauna and sea birds.  Fly from Invercargill to Stewart Island.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation for one night, breakfast and dinner are included.
Day 6  Exploring Stewart Island.  After breakfast depart to Ulva Island for a half day guided tour.  In the afternoon you will enjoy a walk through the forest before arriving at your overnight hut at Masons Beach including dinner.  Go out in the evening spotting the nocturnal kiwi and other nightlife.  Breakfast and dinner are included.
Day 7  Exploring Stewart Island.  After breakfast walk back to Halfmoon Bay.  Only a small area of Stewart Island is populated and there is an abundance of wildlife, birdlife and plant life to be observed.  You will be transferred to your hotel for the night.  A packed lunch, dinner and breakfast are included.
Day 8  Doubtful SoundStewart Island / Invercargill / Manapouri / Doubtful Sound.  After breakfast fly back to Invercargill where you will pick up your rental car for your scenic drive via Riverton and Tuatapere to Manapouri.  Check in for your overnight cruise on Doubtful Sound on board the Fiordland Navigator.  The ship has spacious deck areas for viewing the wilderness scenery and wildlife of Doubtful Sound.  Breakfast and dinner are included.
Day 9  Doubtful Sound to Manapouri to Queenstown.  After breakfast you will disembark, collect your rental car and make your way via Te Anau to Queenstown and your accommodation for the next two nights.  Breakfast is included.
Day 10  Queenstown.  Breakfast at the hotel followed by a free day to enjoy New Zealand’s "Adventure Capital".  There is jet boating, bungy jumping, horse trekking, para-penting, wine tasting, cruising, sailing, golfing, 4 Wheel Drive tours to historic gold mining sites or just relaxing.
Day 11  Queenstown to Mount Cook.  After breakfast drive to Mount Cook, dinner and breakfast are included. Glacier Walking
Day 12  Mount Cook to Christchurch.  After breakfast drive to Christchurch.  A walk up the Hooker Glacier track is highly recommend before departing Mount Cook Village. Breakfast is included.
Day 13  Christchurch to Kaikoura.  After breakfast spend the morning in Christchurch before driving up the East Coast to Kaikoura and your hotel for one night, breakfast is included.
Day 14  Kaikoura to Picton.  This morning experience a Whale Watch Eco-marine Cruise from Kaikoura.  A unique opportunity to view the Giant Sperm Whales in their natural habitat.  In addition to the Whales a typical trip could also see New Zealand fur seal, dolphin, albatross, penguins and other off-shore sea birds.  Continue your drive north to Picton, the gateway to the South Island and your hotel for one night – breakfast is included.

Day 15  Picton to Wellington.  After breakfast enjoy a cruise on beautiful Queen Charlotte Sound to see a variety of birds. Land on Motuara Island Bird Sanctuary for a short bush walk.  Following your cruise make your way to the Picton Inter Island Ferry Terminal and return your car.  Board the ferry to Wellington enjoying the spectacular scenery as you leave through the Queen Charlotte and Marlborough Sounds.  Arrive Wellington pick up your car and make your way to your hotel for one night. Breakfast is included.
Day 16  Wellington to Napier.  Spend the morning exploring Wellington.  Depart at your leisure making your way to Hawkes Bay and the Art Deco city of Napier and your hotel for two nights including breakfast.
Day 17  Napier.  This morning enjoy the beautiful coastline of Cape Kidnappers as you make your way to the world’s largest mainland Gannet Colony.  There are three colonies on the reserve, the Saddle, the Plateau and the Black Reef.  Along the route, rock and river shingle layers show a spectacular sectional outlook, with shell fossils scattering the cliff faces.  View the earthquake faults formed thousands of years ago.  The rest of the day is free to visit some wineries look at Napier’s Art Deco buildings.
Day 18  Napier to Rotorua.  Make your way to Rotorua via Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake.  Lake Taupo is New Zealand's largest Lake and used for all water sports, recreational boating and fishing.  You will stay in Rotorua for two nights including breakfast.  This evening enjoy a Maori Cultural Performance and Hangi Dinner.

Day 19  Rotorua.  Drive to Rainbow Springs to view live ‘Kiwi’ in a natural nocturnal enclosure.  An extensive Kiwi recovery programme has been developed with breeding and hatching Kiwi eggs, the number of these little flightless birds is now increasing.  The rest of the day is free to see the thermal activities in Rotorua.
Day 20  Rotorua to Auckland via Firth of Thames.  Make your way north to the Firth of Thames.  This is a special bay for migrating birds, and time permitting visit the Miranda Bird Sanctuary.  Continue your journey into Auckland city and your accommodation for the next two nights including breakfast.
Day 21  Visit Tiritiri Matangi Island.  Day at leisure in Auckland or take a 1 hour scenic cruise to Tiritiri Matangi Island the famous open bird sanctuary in Hauraki Gulf, home to some rare and threatened birds, these include Saddleback, Stitchbird, Takahe and Kokako.  Enjoy a guided walk and some free time on the island before your return cruise at 15:30.
Day 22  Depart Auckland / New Zealand.  Day at leisure before returning your car to the airport in time for your flight to London.
Day 23  Arrive London.
