| TINCUP WILDERNESS LODGE |
8 nights
Departures June to September |
| Tincup Wilderness Lodge – June to September. This fly-in, luxury lodge is set in an area
of unrivalled natural beauty, at the heart of Yukon’s Ruby Range – an oasis of comfort
surrounded by wilderness and the crystal-blue waters of Tincup Lake. Apart from viewing
wildlife you can choose to hike the trails, explore the bays by kayak and canoe or just relax
in the comfort of the lodge taking in the beauty, solitude and serenity of the Yukon.
The waters around Tincup Wilderness Lodge offer exceptional fishing. Guests are
accommodated in very comfortable cabins with private facilities. The delicious food is
prepared by one of the Yukon’s top chefs. |
 |
Guests at the Lodge have the opportunity to enhance their wilderness experience in a number
of ways. Guided day hikes range from nice, easy treks along rock and gravel filled creek
beds to more strenuous hikes up any one of the 1500 to 2000 metre high mountains which
completely surround Tincup Lake. Climbing ropes and crampons are not required but a pair
of quality, good fitting hiking boots is a must!! The hikes offer guests the opportunity
to see and photograph wildlife, flowers and panoramic vistas of unspoiled Yukon
wilderness. The only trails visible are the well worn game trails followed for centuries
by migrating caribou, moose, Dall sheep and grizzly bears. These trails also serve the
hiker with easy access routes to the high alpine country where guests can wonder for hours and
still be in constant site of the lodge below. Overnight sleep outs on top of any of the
surrounding mountains can also be arranged.

In addition, the Lodge provides its guests with unlimited use of its cedar canoe, rowboat and
one person kayaks. The long, quiet evenings and perfectly still waters of Tincup Lake
provide our guests with the perfect opportunity to glide up quietly and observe at close
range, moose and other animals grazing at the waters edge. After a full day's activities
and a satisfying dinner, guests are invited to try the wood fired sauna or the six person
hot-tub before retiring for the evening. Following dinner, our resident Yukon First
Nations guide and story teller extraordinaire, Mr Ron Chambers, will entertain guests with own
true life experiences in the Yukon as well as enlighten his listeners about First Nation
history and life in the Yukon. The Lodge also has a extensive library with books and
articles pertaining to the Yukon and its history. For guests wishing to learn more about
the fine art of preparing tasty, wholesome dishes and desserts, Jose offers private cooking
demonstrations and instructions on how she manages to create those tasty dishes from common
ingredients. For the occasional guest who simply cannot relax without watching movies, a
limited selection of movies, a VCR and monitor are available for use by the guest in the
privacy of his/her room. |
