Day 1

Fly from London, Manchester or Birmingham via Madrid to Santiago Chile.

Day 2

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Hotel Fundador for one night bed and breakfast.

Day 3

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Punta Arenas and Mount Pleasant departing at 10.00.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to Darwin House, Darwin settlement for one night on full board.  Explore the settlement at your leisure.

Day 4

Internal flight by Falkland Islands Government Air Service to Port Howard.  On arrival you will be met and transferred to the lodge for two nights full board.  You will receive a tour of the farm and settlement and a visit to the small war museum.

Day 5

Port Howard – Full day excursion over the Six Hills to Gladstone, a beautiful wildlife location on the Port Purvis coastline.  A packed lunch will be provided by the lodge.

Day 6

Internal flight to Sea Lion Island where you will be met and transferred to the lodge for 2 nights full board.  You will receive an introductory excursion to help familiarize you with the islands layout and its wildlife after which you can explore on your own.

Day 7

Sea Lion Island – Explore the island and its wildlife at your leisure

Day 8

Internal flight to Stanley where you will be met and transferred to either Malvina House Hotel, on a full board basis OR to one of the local guesthouses on a Bed & Breakfast basis.  Remainder of day free to explore Stanley and perhaps visit the excellent museum.

Day 9

Full day excursion to Volunteer Point, King Penguin Colony.  This is approximately a 2½ hour "off road" drive from Stanley, a packed lunch is included.

Day 10

Morning at leisure before transferring to the airport for your flight to Punta Arenas.  Punta Arenas, on arrival you will be met and transferred to Hotel Costaustralis on bed and breakfast for one night.

Day 11

After breakfast you will be transferred to the terminal to take the bus to Puerto Natales.  On arrival you will be transferred to Hotel Cabo for two nights.

Day 12

Boat ride through the Seno de Ultima Esperanza (‘Last Hope Sound’) to both Serrano and Balmaceda glaciers.  Return to the hotel in the evening.  Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 13

Full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park, part of the United Nations’ World Biosphere Reserve system.  Hike among the lakes, rivers and waterfalls in the shadows of the giant granite pillars which tower over the park.  Overnight at the Hosteria Torres del Paine inside the park. Breakfast and Lunch are included.

Day 14

Morning excursion to the base of the torres (‘towers).  It is a gentle hike to observe and admire the flora and fauna.  In the afternoon you will return by bus to Punta Arenas and the Hotel Costaustralis for one night.  Breakfast and lunch are included.

Day 15

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Santiago with onward connection to the UK via Madrid.

Day 16

Arrive UK.

Friday

Fly from London or UK Regional Airports to Madrid and Santiago Chile.  Spend one night in Santiago at the Director Suites Hotel.

Saturday

Fly from Santiago to Mount Pleasant Airport.  Personal reception and transfer to Darwin settlement.  Overnight at Darwin House, full board accommodation.  Explore settlement at your leisure.

Sunday

Internal flight by Falkland Islands Government Air Service to Port Howard.  Reception at airstrip and transfer to the lodge, full board accommodation (2 nights).
Excursion: - Farm/settlement tour and a visit to the small war museum.

Monday

Port Howard – Full day excursion by 4WD vehicle, over the Six Hills to Gladstone, a beautiful wildlife location on the Port Purvis coastline.  A packed lunch will be provided by the lodge.

Tuesday

Internal FIGAS flight to Sea Lion Island. Reception at airstrip and transfer to the lodge, full board accommodation (2 nights).  Introductory excursion by 4WD vehicle to help familiarize clients with the islands layout and its wildlife.

Wednesday

Sea Lion Island – Explore the island and its wildlife at your leisure

Thursday

Internal FIGAS flight to Stanley.  Reception at airport and transfer to your accommodation (2 nights).  You may wish to stay in the Malvina House Hotel, on a full board basis OR at one of the local guesthouses on a Bed & Breakfast basis.  Remainder of day free to explore Stanley and perhaps visit the excellent museum.

Friday

Full day excursion by 4WD vehicle with driver/guide to Volunteer Point, King Penguin Colony.  This is approximately a 2½ hour "off road" drive from Stanley.  Late afternoon/early evening, return to Stanley.

Saturday

am –  Leisure
pm – Transfer to Mount Pleasant Airport for flight to Santiago where you will spend two nights at the Hotel Director Suites on room only.

Sunday

Santiago at leisure.

Monday

Transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Calama.  On arrival in Calama you will be met and transferred via explora vehicle to explora in San Pedro de Atacama.  The drive goes through the Domeyko Mountains and the vast Atacama Desert.  Later in the day you will meet with the guides to plan the following days activities.  Excursion options range from challenging hikes, to exhilarating horse riding trails and relaxing excursions.

Tuesday

After breakfast, partake in the excursion you have selected the night before.

Wednesday & Thursday

Lunch will either be en route or at the hotel.  Breakfast lunch and dinner are included each day.

Friday

After Breakfast travel, via Explora vehicle to Calama airport in time for your flight to Santiago and onward connection to London via Madrid.
