The Nahanni River flows
through the Mackenzie Mountains on the Yukon/ Northwest Territories border. The area is
so unusual and beautiful that the United Nations has designated the Nahanni National Park a
World Heritage Site. The Virginia Falls (nearly twice the height of Niagara), natural
hot springs, Canada’s deepest canyons and hills of soft calcium sculpted by the elements are
some of the natural wonders which can be seen while rafting or canoeing on the Nahanni River.You will be travelling in large, stable, expedition rafts which accommodate five. The guides navigate with oars but paddles are included for anyone who wishes to participate in paddling. Each trip also includes an inflatable canoe which is shared among the participants who wish to give it a go. Departures are generally limited to 11 people and no experience is necessary. All camping equipment and meals are provided.
| Day 1 | Fly to Edmonton where you spend the night. |

| Day 2 | Fly to Fort Simpson where you will be met on arrival and once the group is assembled you will fly to Virginia Falls. |
| Day 3 | At Virginia Falls, twice the height of Niagara, you complete the portage around the falls, inflate the rafts and head downstream. |
| Day 4 | Drift past the confluence of the Flat River and enter third Canyon, the walls loom 1200m above the river. You camp halfway through this canyon near the Gate. |
| Day 5 | Paddle through the Big Bend and Second Canyon past Headless Creek. You will camp in the vicinity of Deadmen Valley. |
| Day 6 | You start the day by challenging the big waves of George's Riffle and enter First Canyon, the deepest of all the canyons. Camp will be made at Lafferty's Riffle. |
| Day 7 | After the waves of Lafferty's Riffle, you bid farewell to the canyons and enter the braided channels of the Splits. |
| Day 8 | After an early start from camp you will rendezvous with a power boat from the native community of Nahanni Butte. Stopping in the village you will have an opportunity to see this traditional community. Later in the day you will reach Blackstone Landing for the final nights camp. |
| Day 9 | You will be met and driven back to Fort Simpson in time for your flight to Yellowknife and Edmonton for the night. |
| Day 10 | Day at Leisure in Edmonton before your evening flight home. |
| Day 11 | Arrive UK. |
