| CANOEING THE YUKON’S RIVERS |
Long or short, challenging or tranquil, we offer an array of river trips on several of the
Yukon’s most beautiful rivers. Ranging anywhere between 8 and 21 days, our guides will
take you on rivers that have been an integral part of the culture and history of the Yukon for
centuries. You can paddle down the historic Yukon River from Whitehorse to Dawson City
or make your way down the Teslin River, all without any special canoeing skills or
experience. If you are seeking a bigger challenge, you can let our experienced guides
help you explore one of the more remote rivers, such as the Big Salmon, Wind, South MacMillan
and Snake.
For those wishing to explore independently, we have rental canoes available. Our Rental
and Transportation Service-packages have been designed to accommodate a leisurely wilderness
holiday on some of the most spectacular waterways of the north. |

| CANOE EXPEDITION ON THE BIG SALMON AND YUKON RIVERS (GUIDED) |

This 315 kilometre tour includes about 100 km on the Yukon river. The start of the
trip is a quiet lake on the South Canal Road, from where the Big Salmon winds its way through
the Salmon Mountains towards the confluence with the Yukon River. Wildlife encounters
along the river are quite common and one can expect to see moose, caribou, wolf and
eagle. During August and September, thousands of salmon spawn in the Big Salmon, and
grizzly bears are often seen.
In the evenings we will set up camp along the river banks or on gravel bars. Meals are
cooked on the open camp fire, and fresh Arctic grayling, lake trout, salmon and northern pike
may be added to the menu. Hiking trips into the mountains and creek valleys can round
off an exciting river journey. The canoe tour ends in Carmacks on the Yukon River and
you will be transferred back to Whitehorse. |
