WILDLIFE ENCOUNTER
10 nights Departures on alternate Tuesdays and Sundays, October to April
Itinerary
Day 1 Depart in the evening from Brize Norton on RAF Flight. Day 2 Arrive at Mount Pleasant Airport, East Falkland.  You will be met and transferred to Darwin Lodge for one night with full board.  Explore the settlement at your leisure. Day 3 Fly to Pebble Island where you will stay at Pebble Island Lodge for two nights.  A familiarization excursion of the island is included and you are then free to explore at your leisure. Day 4 At leisure on Pebble Island.
Day 5 Fly to Saunders for one night to visit the Black-Browed Albatross, a tour to the rookery is included. Day 6 Fly to Carcass Island and stay in the main house on full board.  Wildlife is all in walking distance from the Lodge.  Here you will see elephant seals, sea lions, king, magellanic and gentoo penguins as well as the striated carcaras and night herons. Day 7 Visit Weddell Island for hiking expeditions along the shoreline and for the fittest, a climb up Mount Weddell.  You will spend the night at Mountain View House. Day 8 Fly to Sea Lion Island and spend two nights at Sea Lion Lodge.  Wildlife observation is spectacular here – see the breeding grounds for elephant seals and sea lions.  A familiarization excursion of the island is included and you are then free to explore at your leisure. Day 9 A day to enjoy Sea Lion Island. Day 10 You will be off to Stanley today and stay at the Malvina House Hotel or bed and breakfast for the remainder of your holiday.  Explore Stanley and perhaps visit the excellent museum. Day 11 A full day excursion to Volunteer Point and the king penguin colony.  This is a two and a half hour ‘off road’ drive from Stanley.  A packed lunch will be provided. Day 12 The morning will be at leisure prior to your transfer to Mount Pleasant Airport for your return flight. Day 13 Arrive at Brize Norton.
Access
Most of the settlements and all of the offshore islands are reached by light aircraft.  Flying schedules are arranged daily, according to the need and this is how you will travel between islands during your stay.
