Heli-hiking adventure in the Rockies

Heli-hiking is the perfect way to experience remote alpine terrain and enjoy magnificent mountain views from areas otherwise only accessible by experienced rock climbers. The pace and difficulty of the hikes are set by the guests, not the guides and therefore are suitable for a wide variety of abilities and interests.

| Day 1 |
Fly from Banff to Bobbie Burns Lodge. Get outfitted with all the necessary hiking gear and enjoy lunch at the lodge. Following a helicopter safety talk, enjoy an afternoon of Heli-Hiking. Heli-flight back to the lodge late afternoon for appetizers, beverages and relaxation before dinner. Dinner is served family style with guests, guides and staff eating together. |
| Days 2-3 |
Partake in a morning stretch class before breakfast. After breakfast the helicopter departs with the group of hikers, accompanied by a guide, for a full day of exploring the immense variety of landscapes in the Bobbie Burns. Return to the lodge mid-afternoon to savour snacks and beverages or just to relax. |
| Day 4 |
Morning stretch class before breakfast then choose from a variety of sandwiches and snacks for today’s picnic lunch in the mountains. Fly Grizzly Ridge and trek along the ridge towards Bugaboo Lodge with a picnic lunch on the way. You will follow a similar routine at the Bugaboos where snacks and beverages await after a memorable day of hiking. Dinner is served family style with the chance to get to know the Bugaboo staff and other guests. |
| Days 5-6 |
Enjoy a morning stretch class and then breakfast before a full day heli-hiking in Bugaboo. Lunch is picnic style in the mountains. Return to the lodge for dinner. |
| Day 7 |
After breakfast, then prepare for departure. You will fly from the lodge to the Bugaboo Helipad, from here you will be transferred by motor coach returning through Kootenay and Banff National Parks to Banff and Calgary Airport. A tasty boxed lunch is provided for the return trip. |

Bobby Burns Lodge
Bobbie Burns Lodge is easily accessible from Banff and accommodates 44 heli-hikers in 24 rooms, all with private bathrooms. The lodge has an outdoor whirlpool, sauna, games room, porch-side basketball hoops, shop, a fireplace in its roomy common area and an extensive wine cellar.
Bugaboo Lodge
Bugaboo Lodge sits about 1600 metres (nearly a mile) above sea level, with 35 rooms with private bathrooms, a wood and stone bar-lounge, an expanded spa area with sauna, steam room, a games room, shop and a new rooftop hot tub with an extraordinary view.
