Iceland offers a wide variety of experiences whatever the season. Summer provides a great choice of activities, such as diving, glacier-skiing, skidoo excursions on Europe’s largest glacier, trips on quad bikes, angling, and mountain biking, kayaking as well as whale watching. Winter is a time of adventure with dog sledding excursions, snowmobiling, ice fishing, northern lights observation and relaxation in the thermal pools and famous Blue Lagoon.
Holiday idea
| Day 1 | Individual transfer from Keflavik Airport or Reykjavik domestic airport by scheduled "Flybus" to your hotel in Reykjavik (Hotel Baron/Hotel Lind or similar). Day at leisure to explore Reykjavik. |
| Day 2 | Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before collecting your hire car from downtown Reykjavik. Drive north to explore the saga valley Borgafjördur. Stay two nights at Hotel Reykholt or similar. |
| Day 3 | Have breakfast at the hotel and spend the day exploring the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. |
| Day 4 | Enjoy breakfast before continuing north to Skagafjördur, the valley of the horses. We recommend a stop at the turfhouse museum at Glaumbaer en route. Overnight at Hotel Dalvik or similar. |
| Day 5 | Enjoy breakfast before visiting Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland. Check in for two nights at Hotel Laugar/Hotel Husavik or similar |
| Day 6 | Have breakfast at the hotel. Spend the day exploring the magnificent Lake Myvatn area. |
| Day 7 | Breakfast at the hotel. We recommend a whale watching cruise in Husavik before you continue through the impressive landscape to Egilsstadir and further on along the east coast to explore the dramatic east fiords. Overnight at Hotel Vatnajokull or similar. |
| Day 8 | Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before visiting Europe's biggest glacier Vatnajökull, the Jökulsarlon glacier and Skaftafell National Park. Overnight at Hotel Skaftafell or similar. |
| Day 9 | Have breakfast at the hotel and then drive along the south coast with black lava fileds, waterfalls and glaciers. Overnight at Hotel Mosfell/Hotel Hengill or similar. |
| Day 10 | Breakfast is served at the hotel. Visit Gullfoss waterfall, the erupting hot springs at Geysir and Thingvellir National Park, before terminating in Reykjavik. Drop-off the rented car at the car-rental office in Reykjavik. Individual transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik (Hotel Baron/Hotel Lind or similar). |
| Day 11 | Breakfast at the hotel. Individual transfer by scheduled "Flybus" to Keflavik Airport. "Flybus" depart from your hotel - please inform the reception the day before leaving. |
