Mexico - Overview

A ruggedly beautiful peninsula extending south from modern day California for over 800 miles. The topography varies from 6000 foot mountains in the east which tumble down to the Sea of Cortez forming isolated coves to the low lying west coast with expansive sandy beaches, pounding Pacific surf and protected lagoons. For millennia grey whales have come to these west coast lagoons to mate, give birth and nurse their young before migrating north to the Bering Sea.

While our holidays on the Baja Peninsula are geared towards sea kayaking with whales, there is ample time to relax on the beautiful beaches. Other highlights of the holiday include paddling through picturesque shallow lagoons, mangrove estuaries filled with abundant bird life, viewing and photographing the gentle grey whale, while camping on sand dunes under the stars.
