Itinerary

Day 1	Fly from UK to Winnipeg where you will spend the night.
Day 2	Transfer to the airport for your flight to Churchill where you will meet your guide and transfer to the Churchill Motel or the Bear Country Inn. The remainder of the day is free to explore Churchill. There will be a welcome briefing in the evening.
Day 3	Follow the shore of Hudson Bay in a Tundra Buggy, giving you your first encounters with polar bears.
Day 4	Activities concentrate in and around Churchill. Take a comprehensive tour of the town, followed by an audio-visual presentation by Parks Canada.
Day 5	A further drive out onto the tundra to observe the bears. A farewell dinner is planned in the evening.
Day 6	The morning is free for you to browse Churchill; a visit to the Eskimo museum is a must, before your flight to Winnipeg. Overnight at the Fort Garry Hotel.
Day 7	Day at leisure before your evening flight to London.
Day 8	Arrive in UK.

Tundra buggies (see photo above) are large rubber tyred bus-like vehicles with lots of windows and a rear deck for viewing, all safely 10 feet above the ground. Each buggy holds approximately 25 people and contains on-board washrooms.

POLAR BEAR LODGE ON THE TUNDRA
CHURCHILL, MANITOBA

An alternative to the above tour is to stay out on the tundra at Polar Bear lodge. The lodge is located at Polar Bear Point, 28 km from the town of Churchill. Staying out on the tundra allows you the opportunity of night photography, including the aurora borealis (northern lights) and 24 hour bear watching. Your accommodation is in comfortable train-style berths.
