| Day 1 | Fly from UK to Winnipeg and transfer to the

| Day 2 | Early morning departure for Churchill. On arrival you will be met and receive a short orientation and clothing check before taking a charter flight to the nature lodge at Dymond Lake on Hudson Bay. Your exciting flight takes you out over the historic Churchill River and northwest up the rugged Hudson Bay coast. Keep a sharp eye out en route for caribou, moose, seals, wolves and, of course, polar bears. Upon arrival at Polar Bear Lodge you will be greeted by your hosts. The lodge has 8 rooms, 4 have bunk beds and there are shared showers and toilets. Your day will include a guided nature hike, a lecture on “Travel in Bear Country”, an interpretive slide show featuring the wildlife of Hudson Bay and, hopefully, a clear night for viewing the aurora borealis! |
| Days 3 & 4 |
Spend two full days experiencing the unique environment of the polar bears on the Hudson Bay. Excursions are guided by professional, knowledgeable leaders, the walks are easy paced and geared towards plenty of viewing and photography. There are options available for those who want to take extended treks or those who prefer to remain at the lodge. Your guides are experts in keeping bears at a safe distance for exciting viewing. Evenings are spent in the lodge around the fire. Bedtime is at your leisure, but be prepared to have your sleep cut short by dazzling displays of northern lights or a nocturnal visit by bears. |
| Day 5 | After breakfast fly back to Churchill for one night in a bed and breakfast. After lunch there is a tour of Churchill and the surrounding area. This includes Parks Canada Interpretive Centre, Eskimo Museum, sled dogs and a coastal road tour. Dinner is a gourmet delight of northern cuisine at the home of international best-selling author, Helen Webber. |
| Day 6 |   Today you will travel
across the tundra in the world famous Tundra Buggies for more polar bear viewing.
Lunch “with the bears” is included on the tour. Optional helicopter tours are
available while on the buggy tour, but must be arranged the night before. On your
return to Churchill fly back to Winnipeg for your final night at the Delta Winnipeg Inn. |
| Day 7 | Morning at leisure before transferring to the airport for your flight to UK. |
| Day 8 | Arrive in UK. |
Tundra buggies (see photo above) are large rubber tyred bus-like vehicles with lots of windows and a rear deck for viewing, all safely 10 feet above the ground. Each buggy holds approximately 25 people and contains on-board washrooms.
