Lapland
Swedish Lapland is Europe’s last remaining wilderness. Most international visitors arrive in Lapland through the town of Kiruna, a 1.5 hour flight from Stockholm. In Jukkasjärvi , near Kiruna is the world famous Icehotel, where visitors can enjoy a wide variety of events and activities throughout winter. The Lapland towns of Kiruna and Jokkmokk are centres for those interested in traditional Sami culture.
Holiday idea
| Day 1 | Fly from UK to Kiruna where you will be met and transferred to Hotel Camp Ripan for one night on bed and breakfast. In the evening there is an option to take a snowmobile tour to view the aurora borealis (Northern Lights). |
| Day 2 | After breakfast, you will be provided with warm clothing for the duration of your stay and given detailed information about your programme. Your guide will teach you how to handle the dog sled and acquaint you with the dogs. Each person drives their own sled with approximately 3-4 dogs. You will drive out to the wilderness through snow-covered forests and over the awe-inspiring winter landscape. Lunch is prepared out in the wild. The night will be spent in a wilderness cabin in the forest and your guide will prepare dinner for you. |
| Day 3 | After breakfast continue with the sled safari to the village of Jukkasjärvi to visit the world famous Icehotel, see the ice sculptures and enjoy a drink at the Absolut Icebar. Your final night is booked at Hotel Camp Ripan but you can choose to stay at the Ice Hotel in an Ice Room. |
| Day 4 | After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to UK. |

Ice Hotel
Sweden’s Ice Hotel is built from scratch every year. Situated on the shores of the Torne River, in the old village of Jukkasjärvi in Swedish Lapland and covering more than 30,000 square feet, the Ice Hotel includes an ice chapel, the hotel itself, an ice art exhibition hall, a cinema and the world famous ‘Absolut Ice Bar’. Guest can choose to stay in cabins or in one of the snow rooms, ice rooms or art suites.
