Bear Viewing on Kodiak Island

A stay at Zachar Bay for wildlife viewing in conjunction with 1 or 2 nights in Kodiak City is a great way to enjoy this wonderful island. It is worth hiring a car for a day, there are numerous walks and beautiful views and visits to the Alutiiq Museum, Russian Orthodox Church and Baranof Museum in Kodiak City are a must.

Price includes flights to Kodiak Island from Anchorage, 3 or 4 nights at Zachar Bay (full board), guided activities, 2 nights at Best Western Kodiak (room only). International flights, transfers in Anchorage, meals at Best Western Kodiak, gratuities and items of a personal nature are not included.

Zachar Bay Lodge
Zachar Bay Lodge on Kodiak Island was originally constructed in 1920’s as a cannery. Many of the original cannery buildings still exist, but most of the surrounding buildings that make up the guest quarters have been newly constructed or renovated, the rooms and buildings are clean and comfortable and retain the quaint cannery atmosphere.
