Whales of Adolphus Point

Take a scenic charter boat from Gustavus to the camp at Point Adolphus, then, after a thorough kayak lesson, test your paddling skills in the calm waters. Days are spent kayaking and watching wildlife, hiking the beaches, or exploring the old-growth rainforest of Chichagof Island. Accommodation is camping in Tongass National Forest. No previous kayaking experience is required for this itinerary.

Holiday idea
| Day 1 |
Meet in Gustavus for an early morning pre-trip meeting before departing from the Gustavus dock, where you will board a charter boat for the ride across Icy Strait. Start watching for whales! You will launch off the stunning coastline near Point Adolphus on Chichagof Island, in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. |
| Day 2 |
You will be based at the wilderness camp for two nights. During the day you will paddle the coastline of Chichagof Island watching for whales, sea lions, porpoise, orca, and sea birds. There may be time for beach combing and forest walks. The paddling distance will be tailored to the group. |
| Day 3 |
Paddle to the pick-up point and board the charter boat back to Gustavus. |

Price includes two nights camping. Flights to and from Gustavus, Alaska, accommodation in Gustavus, meals not noted above, daypack for yourself to carry daily items, sleeping bag and pad (available for rent from Alaska Discovery for $40), insurance, gratuities and items of a personal nature are not included.
