Overview

Embark on a 6-day birdwatching focused adventure in Brazil's Amazon Rainforest. Journey through the Amazon and the Pantanal, two of the world’s most biodiverse regions. Encounter a breatht-aking array of bird species, from vibrant macaws to the elusive Cone-billed tanager.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in the Amazon

Upon arrival in Cuiabá, you will transfer to Pousada Jardim da Amazônia, nestled amidst the lush rainforest. After settling in, begin a guided tour of the lodge’s surroundings, exploring lagoons and crystal-clear streams. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodations at the pousada.

Day 2 | Birdwatching on Logoa do Tie Bicudo

Begin the day with an early morning boat safari on Lagoa do Tie Bicudo, searching for the elusive Cone-billed tanager (Conothraupis mesoleuca). After returning for lunch, embark on a nature walk to the Buritizal Pass, where guests have the opportunity to spot the elusive Parauacu monkeys. Conclude the day with a sunset at Ninhal das Araras before returning to the pousada for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 | From the Amazon to Pantanal's Aymara Lodge

After breakfast, begin a boat and walking tour along the Angelim Trail. Enjoy lunch before checking out and transferring to Pousada Aymara in the Pantanal. In the late afternoon, explore the levee on a trail walk, where guests have excellent opportunities to observe herons, storks, and other aquatic birds. Dinner included and consider an optional nocturnal walk to spot night birds and owls.

Day 4 | Full day birdwatching in Pantanal

Spend a full day exploring the diverse ecosystems surrounding Pousada Aymara, focusing on birdwatching. With an expert guide, discover ciliary forests and spot a variety of bird species. As evening falls, embark on a spotlighting tour to observe the nocturnal wildlife of the Pantanal.

Day 5 | A final day of exploration

Another full day is dedicated to birdwatching, with an expert guide leading guests to discover rare and en-demic species. As on the previous day, the evenings will be filled with nocturnal exploration.

Day 6 | Return to Cuiaba

After a leisurely morning of birdwatching and nature walks, check out and transfer back to Cuiabá, where your adventure concludes.
