Birds

We offer specialised bird watching itineraries in many of the countries featured on this website. Here are a few of our favourites:

Costa Rica is home to over 850 bird species, including the Sun Bittern, Red-throated Ant-Tanager, Black-cheeked Woodpecker, and Montezuma oropendolas - all of which live near the lodge.

Colombia is very diverse and its national park and protected area system is among the most extensive and unique in the world.  It is one of the best places for bird watching with 1958 species recorded of which 80 are endemic to the country. We have been able to gain access to the best sites (some of which are not open to the public) to see the most interesting and rare species.

With a resident population in excess of 1,388 different bird species, and many more that fly down from Europe and up from Southern Africa, Tanzania is one of the greatest places for birders. From the gigantic Marshall eagle to the delicate sunbird, the elusive Shoebill to the omnipresent Marabou, there is certainly something to please every birdwatcher.
